Dear  Michael,
We are pleased to announce the latest version of the Desktop Client 2.3.3. It is available on owncloud.com/download or within ownBrander if you are entitled to branded apps.

ownCloud Desktop Client 2.3.3

It contains an important fix for compatibility with the server 10.x. With older client versions, you could get into a situation where overwriting a small file on the server with a big file on the desktop would not work. On Linux the client will now ship with its own Qt version 5.6.2.

With the release of ownCloud Desktop Client 2.3.3 we added support:
  • Debian 9
  • Fedora 26
  • openSUSE Leap 42.3
We plan to drop the following Linux distributions with the next release:
  • Debian 7
  • Fedora 24
  • openSUSE Leap 42.1
  • Ubuntu 14.04
With the 2.4.0 release, we also plan to drop the following platforms:
  • Linux 32-bit
  • Mac OS X 10.7
  • Mac OS X 10.8
  • Mac OS X 10.9

 Important Notes

ownCloud Server 8.2 reached it‘s end-of-life in May 2017 and ownCloud Server 9.0 will reach it‘s end-of-life in October 2017. For that we would like to kindly remind you:
  • If you are still running version 8.2, please get in touch with our support team urgently and plan your upgrade to ensure secure further operation.
  • If you are on version 9.0, please also prepare your upgrade as the last important security updates will be delivered this month.
Good news for administrators is that ownCloud Server 10.0.3 - which is just around the corner – enables direct upgrading from version 8.2 and above to version 10.0.3 in a single upgrade process.
